1. Scope and Identity
This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information through www.garrten.com, its sub-domains and any associated web-based applications operated by BALKRS (the “Platform”).
GÄRRTEN is a trademark owned by BALKRS. “BALKRS”, “GÄRRTEN”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to BALKRS; “you” and “your” refer to any visitor, user or customer of the Platform.

2. Information We Collect
Information provided by you
We may collect information you provide while browsing the Platform, creating an account, placing an order, contacting customer service or subscribing to communications, including:
• name;
• email address;
• telephone number;
• billing and shipping address;
• account and order details;
• delivery and return information;
• communications sent through email, WhatsApp, contact forms or other customer-support channels; and
• marketing and communication preferences.
You may choose not to provide requested information. However, we may be unable to process an order, provide delivery, respond to a request or provide the relevant service without information necessary for that purpose.
Payment information
Online payments are processed through third-party payment gateways and aggregators engaged by us from time to time. Payment credentials entered during checkout are processed by such payment service providers. BALKRS may receive transaction-related information such as payment status, transaction reference, payment method, amount and information necessary for order confirmation, accounting, refunds and fraud prevention.
Information collected automatically
When you access or use the Platform, certain information may be collected automatically, including:
• Internet Protocol address;
• browser and device type;
• operating system;
• pages viewed and links selected;
• date and time of access;
• referring website or advertising campaign;
• cookie and similar technology identifiers;
• clicks, scrolling and other interactions with the Platform; and
• approximate location inferred from the Internet Protocol address.
We do not collect precise GPS location through the Platform.

• responding to enquiries through email, telephone or WhatsApp;

For certain uses, we may process data for legitimate uses permitted under applicable law without separate consent. You may withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 9.

6. Disclosure of Information
Personal information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to:
• website hosting and infrastructure providers;
• payment gateways, aggregators, banks and payment-service providers engaged by us;
• courier, logistics and delivery providers;
• analytics, advertising and technology providers engaged by us;
• WhatsApp and customer-communication providers;
• email and marketing communication providers;
• technology, hosting and security providers;
• accountants, auditors, legal advisers and other professional advisers; and
• government, regulatory, judicial or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required under applicable law.
Service providers receive only information reasonably necessary for the service they perform.
7. Transfer and Processing Outside India
Some service providers, including third-party hosting infrastructure, may process or store information outside India. Such transfers are made in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We do not transfer personal data to any country or territory restricted by the Central Government.
8. Retention
Personal information will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or for such longer period as may be required under applicable tax, accounting, consumer-protection or other legal obligations.
Information may also be retained where reasonably necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
9. Your Rights
As a Data Principal, you have the right to:
• access a summary of your personal data and the processing undertaken;
• correction, completion or updating of your personal data;
• erasure of your personal data, unless retention is required under applicable law;
• withdraw consent previously given (withdrawal does not affect lawful processing already carried out, and may prevent us from continuing to provide the relevant product or service);
• nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and
• grievance redressal (Section 11).

10. Security Practices
We maintain reasonable managerial, technical, operational and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed and the nature of our business. Access to personal information is restricted to authorised persons and service providers who require access for legitimate business purposes.
In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users in the manner required under applicable law.
No electronic transmission, online platform or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Grievances will be addressed within one month from the date of receipt. If your grievance is not resolved satisfactorily, you may make a complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.
12. Children’s Data
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children without verifiable parental consent. Where such data is identified, it will be deleted.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy where required due to changes in our practices, service providers, technology or applicable law. The revised Policy will be published on the Platform together with its updated effective date.
